A brand system and packaging language for a specialty coffee union in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian coffee travels the world under someone else's name. BunBeri was built to change the order of that sentence — a union of growers speaking for itself, in one voice, on the shelf and in the room.
We set the naming architecture, the identity system and a packaging language that scales from a single-origin bag to export crates and trade stands. The mark is drawn from the seal — a stamp of origin applied by hand or printed at speed.
Everything was handed over as a working system: type scale, colour discipline, photography direction and a set of rules the union's own team applies without us in the room.
A seal is a promise someone has to be able to keep.
Two weights of the wordmark, one accent, a grid that holds Amharic and Latin at the same optical weight, and a photography brief that keeps the coffee — not the styling — in the frame.
